OUR VISION

CU Birth Fund imagines a future where the rates of pregnancy-related deaths in our community are eliminated. We will make this happen by providing funds for pregnant people of color to secure midwifery and/or doula care. Our goal is to make sure all pregnant people have access to affordable, culturally sensitive, and supportive care.

Our Values

  • We are committed to the principles of Reproductive Justice, rooted in the human right to bodily autonomy, the right to have children, the right to not have children, and the right to raise our families in safe and sustainable communities.

  • We believe in the right of every individual to have access to safe, respectful, and supportive births.

  • Our commitment to birth justice includes advocating for equitable access to quality care, honoring diverse birth choices, and supporting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of all individuals and families throughout their reproductive journeys.

  • We are dedicated to addressing and dismantling the systemic inequities that disproportionately affect marginalized communities, particularly Black, Indigenous, and people of color.

  • We stand firmly against racism and white supremacy. Our values are rooted in inclusion, empathy, and the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race or background.

  • We believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all families, regardless of gender, religion, sexuality, or identity. We value and respect the diversity of family structures, recognizing that love, support, and care are the foundation of every family. All families have the right to thrive without discrimination.
